Mirabell Palace & Mirabell Garden

The famous garden of the Mirabell Palace was redesigned under prince-archbishop Johann Ernst count of Thun according to plans by Johann Bernhard Fischer of Erlach around 1690 and around 1730 fundamentally transformed by Franz Anton Danreiter. In the year 1854, the Mirabell Garden was opened to the public by Emperor Franz Joseph and presents itself to this day as a gem of garden architecture with the impressive Pegasus Fountain, Hecken (Hedge) Theatre and Gnome Garden.
