Salzburg Festival in summer

On 20 August 1920, "Jedermann" by Hugo von Hofmannsthal was performed for the first time in Salzburg under Max Reinhardt and marked the birth of the Salzburg Festival. This extraordinary cultural festival takes place in Salzburg every July and August. In addition to great classical operas and plays, important contemporary works are also presented. The venues within the festival: the Festspielhaus - the House for Mozart- the Felsenreitschule- the Domplatz and the Kollegienkirche.

Jazz Autumn

One hundred concerts at fifty venues in Salzburg's old town provide special sound experiences every year in October as part of "Jazz & the City". For five days, Salzburg's old town - with its cafés, bars, squares, galleries and many special venues - is transformed into a mecca of the music scene. The programme includes world music, jazz and electronic music, international greats as well as promising newcomers. And all that with free admission.

Salzburg Easter Festival

The Salzburg Easter Festival was founded in 1967 by Herbert von Karajan. The main focus is on opera. The supporting programme is made up of numerous concerts.
