Behind the scenes

The Sound of Music was filmed in 1964 at original locations in and around Salzburg - including Mirabell Gardens, Leopoldskron Palace and Nonntal Abbey.

Julie Andrews not only impressed in front of the camera, but also the locals and visitors who watched her filming.

Today, 60 years later, Salzburg is inextricably linked with the film - and invites you to discover its history for yourself.
